Piano Technicians Guild
Oklahoma Chapter Minutes

March 20, 2003

The meeting opened at 8:52AM and was held in Rm208 of The Garvey Center on the Oklahoma Christian University campus.

Norman Cantrell gave the invocation.

Bob Scheer brought up the newspaper article about Bob Qualls, and the Q&A article by Keith McGavern. Morgan Stewart, Larry Johnson’s son, potential guest.

Minutes were read, corrected and accepted.

Gary Bruce gave a treasurer’s report. Current balance - $2,345.28

No report on TSA.

No old business or new business brought up.

Gary Bruce and Nathan Sobel are doing the tunings for Larsen Music Community. No one knows who has assumed the Disklavier responsibility.

A nominating committee was chosen: Norman Cantrell, Gary Bruce, Keith McGavern.

A break took place and then Gary Bruce presented the technical. There wasn’t a specific title, but rather a hodgepodge of subjects. Unfortunately, I can only remember two: 1) the replacement of Yamaha hammer butt flanges where the spring cords have lost their integrity, and 2) the marvelous duplication of a pedal lyre support bracket for a Kimball grand.

Excellent camaraderie was had throughout the gathering time.

There were eight persons in attendance:
Gary Bruce, David Bonham, Bob Scheer, Ben Davis, Norman Cantrell, Don Bonds, Keith McGavern, Greg Lynch, Rhonda Ringer.

Respectfully submitted,
Keith McGavern, RPT
Chapter Secretary
