For the technical** Norman Cantrell presented The Way Things Ought To Be. Due to a job he experienced where the down weight was well above 60 grams on a grand piano, he discovered new hammers had been hung without some preparation and the knuckles were flat as well.

To rectify the situation, he brought to our attention ways to prep grand hammers after they have been hung, and in conjunction he bolstered the knuckles, replaced the hammer flange center pins and regulated to reduce the down weight significantly.

He also showed those in attendance another one of his funky inventions he designed & created designed to trim grand hammer heads using a table saw. Now only was it a work of art and functional, it was totally safe for the user. Norman’s ingenuity shines once again.

There were 8 persons in attendance:
Bob Scheer, Nathan Sobel, Keith McGavern, Greg Lynch, David, & Barbara Bonham, Norman Cantrell, Rhonda Ringer.

Respectfully submitted,
Keith McGavern, RPT
Chapter Secretary
