The meeting opened at 8:49AM and was held at David & Barbara Bonham’s home.

David Bonham gave the invocation.

Instructors to date: Patton-Voicing Steinway hammers, Connell-Sharpening Tools, Crane-Tuning, Probst-Field Tools, Cantrell-Vertical Regulation, Goss-String Leveling, Gravagne-Kawai Voicing. Mini-Techs:-Knabe-Web stuff, Gilliam-Dealer Relations, Spier-String Splicing, Scheer-Pedal Stuff.

For the technical: David & Barbara presented cleaning pianos as a reconditioning activity. The two patients were a Grotian & a Brambach grand. Areas covered were polishing strings, wiping soundboards, cleaning the plate, especially around the tuning pins.

Some of the materials used were the Spurlock soundboard cleaning tools, a portable vacuum that blows, naptha, mineral oil, alcohol, a soundboard steel, Q-tips, polishing stone, steel wool, and those all important ingredient, elbow grease and patient.

It is safe to say that those of us there have picked up some excellent tips on how to make a used piano more appealing to the eye.
