You have been identified to us as someone involved with piano tuning, repair or sales. Whether this is your full-time profession or part-time hobby and whether or not you are a member of the Guild or never heard of us, this is your invitation to attend a fun and educational event. Please share this with anyone who might be interested.

We each depend on tools in our piano servicing. How do you learn what tools are appropriate and available for each job? Have you invented or adapted some of your own tools? What new tools would you like to see on the market?

Bob Marinelli of PianoTek will be our guest on Saturday, March 12 to show some of the tools he sells and to demonstrate their uses. He has been asked to include techniques of key repair and the use of various modern and traditional adhesives in his class. (Why on earth have piano craftsmen continued to use that smelly stuff for over a hundred years?)

Lunch is included in the $22/$25 registration fee. During the lunch hour you are invited to share any tool you have invented, modified, put to a new use or just dreamed up.

Bob Johnson, our South Central Regional Vice President, will be on hand to represent and answer questions about THE PIANO TECHNICIANS GUILD, INC.

Many people in the piano technician field tend to be loners and somewhat isolated from contact with peers in this business. Some of this is due to geography, some to the nature of the business and some to choice. Those of us active in the local Guild Chapter can attest to the open fellowship and constructive skill-sharing that are the ongoing bases of our group. I for one have learned far more in the last seven years since joining than I had in the previous seventeen!
